WFHS Students Recognized at Brookhaven Hispanic Heritage Celebration

Seven William Floyd High School students were recognized this past fall at the second annual Town of Brookhaven Hispanic Advisory Board Hispanic Heritage Month celebration. William Floyd’s students, among 76 students from throughout all of Brookhaven Town, were recognized for their academic achievements (3.7 GPA or higher). Congratulations to the following students: Paula Godoy, Vontaysia Laguerre, Gabriella Marroquin, Liana Perez, Emily Reyes, Marilin Solorzano and Ezekiel Torres. Liana Perez was also chosen to be a student speaker.

The Brookhaven Town Hispanic Advisory Board, which is the first of its kind for Brookhaven, was established in 2013 to help improve cultural understanding between the Hispanic community, civic and business leaders, Brookhaven government and town residents. The mission of the board is to discuss and address issues of importance and relevance to the Hispanic community and make recommendations regarding proposed legislation to the Brookhaven Town Board.
